A complex installation of tent structure Big Tent for a media center was performed in Donetsk, at the Donbas Arena stadium under realization of the final stage of the EURO 2012 European Championship.
The Big Tent structure had the following parameters: width - 30 m, length - 65 m, wall height – 4 m, and roof height – 8,87 m. The total area of the premise was 1950 sq. m. The complexity of the construction was that the height difference of the construction site in length was 4 m, and the height difference of the site in width was 2 m. The installation of such big tent is impossible under such conditions. Due to this, it was decided to build a special podium from scaffolding to ensure a smooth surface of the site.
It was used about 80 ton of scaffolding for the installation of the podium for the tent. The load about 200 ton was calculated for the podium – together with the tent structure, equipment and guests. The temporary premise was equipped with aluminum double leaf doors in quantity 8 pieces. At the client’s request, the tent was decorated with a white fabric ceiling. Powerful air conditioning systems have also been installed to comfortable temperature maintenance in the tent of the media center for the period of the European Championship.
